Green Day visited the first ever bar they played in Dublin... only to find that it's now a Starbucks

GREEN DAY ARE currently knocking around Dublin ahead of their gig in Royal Hospital Kilmainham tonight.
While ambling around the city, they started reminiscing about their first ever visit to Dublin back in 1991.
“december 1991 we played Dublin Ireland above above a pub,” Billie Joe Armstrong wrote on Instagram. “for the life of me i can’t remember the name of the pub. I know they called the gig above the pub “the attic”.. but what was the actual name of the pub?? does anyone remember?”
Fans informed them that the pub in question was The White Horse Inn, a pub on George’s Quay, which quietly closed its doors in July of last year.

What’s there now? A Starbucks, of course. (One of 51 in Dublin!) Needless to say, Armstrong was suitably grimmed out by this development.
He then proposed playing a gig in Starbucks.
And took this photo outside what used to be The White Horse Inn.

According to State, Green Day played the gig on a Sunday afternoon in December 1991 for a crowd of approximately 25 people. Amazingly, organisers lost money on the gig.
What a difference 26 years makes, eh?
*gulp*
